How to read these records

The certifications

MBE: minority-owned business enterprise. WBE: women-owned. EBE: emerging business enterprise. LBE: locally-based business enterprise. A business can hold several; each has its own renewal date.

The renewal date

The date by which the certification must be renewed, as in the file of October 1, 2026. A date already past may mean a renewal in progress.

Declared by the business

The industry, the bonding limit and the union-contract answer are what the business declared to the city.

What is not here

The city's file also holds the owner's name, phone number and ethnicity, the business's own description, and the names of past clients — some of them private individuals. None of it is republished on this site. New York State runs a separate M/WBE certification, with its own directory.
